Location: Barrio de Brisas Yuna en BONAO
Local partner: Fundación Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe (Foundation Our Lady of Guadalupe)
Justification: Providing permanent energy is a basic need for the functioning of a medical clinic and the children care-center farm, as well as for all other services of the Fundación Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Public electric energy is provided for only an avarage of 4 – 6 hours a day at unpredictable hours. The general situation of the country discourages expectations for any medium term government solution. The Dominican Republic is in deep economic crisis and insufficient energetic supply. Therefore we plan to build an electric plant of 22 KW (indispensable for the functioning of the X-ray equippment) and 12 solar panels that provide 1.860 W and ensure energy supply for the daily functioning in case of a blackout of several days.
Objectives: Improve sanitary services for empoverished family assisted by the services of the Fundación Ntra. Sra. De Guadalupe: medical clinic and the children care center farm San Francisco, ensuring permanent electric energy supply for installations and vital equipment for proper functioning of all services.
