Justification: Pregnancy at an early age constitutes a considerable socio-economic and public health problem; particularly in a context of high fertility, as happens in Bolivia. The fact of those unions of adolescent couples generates unstable families, and this implies break-ups, rejection of pregnancy, neglect and abandoning of children, stigma and exclusion of the mothers; in short, it obstructs a future of dignity for them and their children.
Objetives: Comprehensive care for personal empowerment and to develop self reliance.

Activities:
- Outreach and promotion of the rights of pregnant adolescents to their partner, family and neighborhoods.
- Radio and local tv programs.
- Training and psychological counselling to strengthen personal development (workshops, conferences, meetings…)
- Workshops for spouses, partners and family members about responsible parenting.
- Technical work training in different areas (cake confectionery, bakery, tailoring, beauty parlor, computation, crafts for gifts...)
Beneficiary population: about 2.500 young women and adolescents aged 12 to 20.
Duration of the project: 24 months
Budget and financing: € 78.887,24 (participate Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa and townhall Oñati, Spain)
Achievement:
Individual and collective meetings with 80 pregnant adolescents in the suburb quarters of Niña Autónoma and Meralysa
Specific workshops about health, pregnancy, nutrition, etc.
Psychological therapy for 20 adolescent mothers and/or pregnant
Home visits
Workshops about rights and obligations, domestic violence, assistence and check-up of children.
Radio and tv programs, articles in written press
Accompaniment during birth and follow-up process to health care centers in the suburb
Accompaniment and incorporation of 10 adolescents into school and formal education
Training in confectionery, make-up, bakery ....
