Justification:
Objectives: Empowerment of 60 women living in poverty in varias rural communities of the district of Ramallah, Cisjordan, to improve their economic conditions and increase their presence in the economic, social and political life of their communities.
- Pull off a formation center equipped with an organisational structure for human resources, administration and whatever material is required to develop this project.
- Training in civil and democratic values and professional capacitation for employability of beneficiary women in the market of sewing and dressmaking.
- Promote implementation of small domestic sewing business of beneficiaries.
- Set up a program for continued evaluation of project development
Activities:
- Promote administrative mechanisms: HDIP employs personnel as project staff in the main office of HDIP in Ramallah.
- Project presentation to communities
- Set up a team of trainers
- Rent and equip formation center (furnished and by 6 sowing industrial machines)
- Purchase 60 sowing machines for beneficiaries
- Meeting with beneficiaries to determine level of needs and skills to design a specific training program
- Training courses about citizenship, gender and peaceful conflict resultion.
- Training courses in sowing and dressmaking.
- Training courses in administration, small business management and marketing techniques.
- Create an Association Women Seamstress in Ramallah and a directive committee formed by 5 women elected by the beneficiaries to promote and defend their interests before institutions and other associations, and watch over commercial promotion.
Beneficiary population: directly 60 women and indirectly 420 members of their family units, based on an avarage of 7 members per family unit.
Duration of project: 12 months
