Improvement of the care for disabled children in Salé-Rabat

Location: Salé-Rabat (Morocco)

Local partner: Caritas Rabat and Association El Youssr

Justification: The problems to be tackled through this project focus on two fields:

Necessity of increasing the organization and management ability of the Association El Youssr (Autistic, down syndrome, disabled….. persons´ relatives)
Necessity of improvement on the sons and daughters´ sanitary and educational care the disabled of El Youssr´s associates

Objectives:

To increase the management and work of the Association El Youssr regarding its socio-sanitary and educational work.
To improve fifty disabled children´s educational, sanitary and social quality in the ruled school and the Association environment

Activities:

To set up a post as Coordinator of activities.
Kit purchase for the Association office (pieces of furniture, telephone-fax and accounting programme).
A five day course on associative management.
Associative accounting course and accountant system acquired by the association.
Booklets edition to publish the association´s objectives.
Realisation of a guide to affected parent´s use, members of the Association.
Support for functioning costs that aim at getting functional backing services.
Furniture, pedagogic and psycho-driving material renovation in the four existent classrooms.
Making of a new classroom for autistic children in the Ibn Toufail School.
The new classroom kit for autistic children.
Salary improvement for the professionals of the Association.
Selection and hiring of the educators (one educator and two auxiliaries) for the new classroom of the autistic children.
Course on disability for the educators.
Course on autism for the educators.
Course to improve the use of the pedagogic material by the educators.
Course on administration and management for those in charge of the Association.
Hiring of a psychologist, a technical orthopedist and a psycho-driver.
Training in horticulture and breeding of rabbits for the educators and parents of the Association.
Educators training in hygiene and nutrition.
Getting ready for and equipment of the garden and the farm space.
Sports kit buy and preparation.
Development of socializing activities for disabled children: outings, parties, holidays…

Beneficiary population: fifty disabled children.

Project duration: three courses.

Whole Budget: 174.163,73 euros
