Location: Peripheral quarters of the city of Sucre

Justification: Poverty keeps growing in the country and causes increasingly rural emigration into the city. Women are the most affected, because of insufficient schooling or because they are illiterate and this situation makes it more difficult even to find employment. This collective of women with is mostly found in peripheral quarters of Sucre, and they have less chances for training and formation. The situation motivates this support project to improve work opportunities through training in different crafts, food education and organization, always inserted in the living areas of these women.
Objetives: Contribute to the development of leadership capacities, participation and representation of the women in the marginal quarters of Sucre
- Improve work opportunities of the women
- Train in production techniques and knowledge about healty food
- Training for organization and leadership
Activities:
- Creation of 20 family centers to work in training programs for food education and leadership
- Creation of three manufacturing units in tailoring, pastry and cooking and needlework
- Equip those centers and manufacturing units
- Courses in food education
- Conferences about rights and leadership
- Coordination, follow-up and evaluation of the 20 centers and 3 units
Beneficiary population: 400 women of 20 rural communities of district 6 of Sucre, plus their respective families (5 o 6 members)
Duration of the project: 12 months
Budget and financing: € 98.905,91 (participates Gobierno de Navarra)
